Fashion in the 1940s
Most people said that they didn’t wear makeup in the 1940s, and those who did wore soft colors and lipstick.
About half the people interviewed said they had long hair and the other half short.
As far as shoes goes, they all said the quality of their shoes was very poor.
The clothes they wore was mostly dark colors, like black and brown, but they also wore light colors like blue and white. Some people wore solid colors and some stripes. Some people wore shorts and nobody wore tight T-shirts. Everybody dressed more formal than nowadays, and not so sexy.
Most people answered they like today’s fashion better, but some still like the old days better.
Fashion in the 1950s
The great majority didn’t wear any makeup and their faces were pale. Boys’ hair was short and girls’ hair was long.
They had different types of shoes, some wore trainers and some elegant shoes.
Girls wore earrings, rings, scarves and bracelets, but boys didn’t.
People liked the colors blue and gray very much, but they wore light colors in the summer and dark clothes in the winter.
Girls wore skirts and boys wore short trousers. Everybody dressed elegant and serious and nobody dressed sexy. Nobody showed their belly.
Most people prefer today’s fashion.
