CHRISTMAS TREE

A few days before Chrisrmas Eve, we can see a lot of Christmas trees on balconies in towns. Some people buy Christmas tree in shops or at markets. It can be a spruce, a pine or a silver spruce. Many people prefer to have artificial tree which can be folded away and used many following years. At home they put  the tree up in the living room and decorate it with many things.

The shops are full of decorations with Christmas motives. Some people buy decorations, and some prepare them at home - wooden figures, decorations  made from straw: balls, rings, stars, angels, figures. There are many types of decorations.

The traditional Slovak Christmas tree is decorated with candels, nuts, apples, gingerbread cakes, dried plums or other fruit. The typical Slovak Christmas tree is decorated with glass balls, angels, stars, electric lights in some houses they use candles - on the top of the free there is a big star or glass pick, golden ribbons, angel hair, lots of sweets, chocolate figures.
Nowadays people decorate Christmas tree with balls in one colour, they usually dont hang on any sweets but lights must be.
