CHRISTMAS AT SCHOOL

December is a month for us students. There are many celebrations which children love and adults, too.
December 6th is the day, when St. Nicolaus comes. This is a person, who gives presents to all people. It is a tradition at our school that every year at this time the angels and a devil come with St. Nicolaus. Their work is simply, they must drive students from the classrooms to the playground. There is St. Nicolaus waiting with packages, which consist of bananas, oranges, chocholates and sweets. Then we have free lessons in the classrooms. This is an opportunity for students who write on the table: "At St. Nicolaus, don´t learn, don´t examine, who this law impairs, his or her ears will be stretched!!!"

Christmas is celebrated not only at homes but at schools, too. Christmas has a long tradition at our school. About 3 weeks before Christmas we start preparing. Christmas academy, Christmas decoration in classrooms and Christmas tree in school hall.

Christmas academy is a great show of our students´ talent. They prepare scenes with religious themes for other students and teachers. Sing Christmas carols, dance, recite poems and enjoy the athmosphere of Christmas. This academy usually takes place on the last day before holiday.

Students decorate their classrooms because the want to be rewarded with the cake Christmas academy. There is a jury which consists of members of Student Parlament. They evaluate the classroom decorations. Students bring some glassballs from house, the others prepare their own things.
