WHAT I LIKE THE MOST ABOUT CHRISTMAS

Itīs December. The weather is cold, the earth is frozen. People buy presents for their relatives. In the town there is rush. People are in a hurry, they are nervous, they want to manage to do everything. They "wait" for Christmas, the children look forward to Jesus, to presents, but mainly to holidays. Children decorate the whole flat and the Christmas tree. The tree is real or artificial. On the tree there are glass balls, candies, sweets, candles, decorations,... And at last the Christmas Eve is here. The whole family is sitting around the table. The family is happy and cheerful. The table is very pretty decorated, on the table there are burning candles. On the plates there are waffles with honey.

The holiday of "Christīs birth" begins with a prayer. It is lavish dinner. A toast, waffles with honey continue in the tradition, which is typical for more countries. Sauerkraut soup with homemade sausages, little poppy dumplings, bean or lentil sauce, fish with potatoe salad, these are meals typical for Christmas. The dinner ends with a prayer. In the room the bell is ringing, a song "Silent night, holy night" can be heard. The family unpack the presents, which are under the Christmas tree. In the room you can hear laughter, conversations, merry stories,... And finally, it is midnight.

A church service, which is on Christmas Eve called "Midnight Mass" belongs to the celebration.

The full church celebrate "the Christīs birth." Christmas Eve is ending, Christmas Day - 25th December, Boxing Day - 26th December, New Yearīs Eve - 31st Dcember, New Year - 1st January, Holiday of the Three Wise Men - 6th January follow. The Christmas holidays end, only memories of winter and Christmas remain.

So, this is Christmas, which is the prettiest celebration of the year. But not everybody realizes that Christmas is not only holiday for giving presents. It is also an arrival of Jesus. Many people donīt realize this "arrival." Can Christmas exist without Jesus? I think, no. He is the One, who belongs to the happiness of people. Pretty song "Silent night, holy night" doesnīt have to be played only during Christmas holidays. Jesus wants to be born in every man. Do we allow him to do it?
