CHRISTMAS CAROLS AND SONGS
At Christmas people all over the world remember the birht of Jesus. Children an adults sing carols and songs, which are about Mary and her baby, about shepherds and angels. These songs are full of love, tender and pleasure. People say that the first glorifying songs and carols were sung by shepherds on their way to Bethlehem. They have found a child who was sleeping in a manger.

There are different traditions according to singing Christmas carols in towns and our villages. In villages Christmas carols are sung by children who go from house to house and are rewarded with money or some cake. The money which they collect usually goes to church on its renovation. In towns the family stays at home and after supper they sing carols round the Christmas tree or listen to them on CD player. There are a lot of very old Christmas carols. Carol singing begun in the 13th century. Parents taught their children, they taught their children...
The typical Christmas carol is Silent night, known and sung in nearly all languages oll over the world.
