Pepper capsium comes from South America and is cultivated in most tropical countries. Caribs called it ati, pymant or toumali. This plant need fresh soil with rich wet organic material. The fruit is rich in vitamin C, becomes red with maturity, has a very prickly savour and contains many seeds.
