Deal is used for the resonance chamber,maple for sides and for the bottom. Instead ebany is used for the finger board. The lute-maker also use a particular paint to improve the sound and the appearance. The paints are produced directly,by the lute-maker with vegetal resin and natural dyes which are left for a certain period in alcohol.
