The Danubian Folclore Festival is one of the most large-scale programms in the Baja region. In the Baja region lives many kinds of ethnic minorities, for them they organized the first Danubian Folclore Festival more than 15 years ago. The goals of this programme: increase the friendship between countries, save other people sign's culture and traditions, cultivate twin town's friendships. The festival has been organized since 1984 and in every year more than 20 countries' ensembles take part in it. The settings of this programme are in three towns : Baja , Kalocsa and Szekszard. Besides the Hungarian and the Danubian ensembles some invited ensembles also take part in the programme: from India, Finland, Sweden, Latvia, Italy, Turkey and Taiwan.
Besides folklore programs some expert's discussions waited for the participants. The essence of these discussions was: links between other cultures and building cultural relationships. Participants could see a lot of interesting exhibitions. In the unique open market and display of folk handicrafts the craftmen show how to make pottery , woodcarving , jewellery....
More brave participants could try to make it with their own hands. The most interesting program was running on the festival stage. It's no use to worry about somebody die of thirst during the show, seeing that organizer put up some beer tents around the stage where everybody could crack a bottle with friends.

After tasting the great Hungarian wine people easily become hungry . There was a gastronomic show not far away from the stage, where everybody could taste dishes characteristic for the region between the rivers Danube and Tisza. The closing gala evening of the Festival gave the music to the Festival of Fishermen's Soup.
