Christmas in our country (Argentina)
Hello! We are Virginia, María and Constanza. We are thirteen years old and we’d like to write about Christmas in our country.
Hello! My name’s Virginia Aranda. My Christmas is very beautiful. Some days before in my family, everyone does an activity. In my house I’m in charge of decorating the tree because I haven’t got brothers. So, on the 8th of December, I take the tree out of the box, I clean it and decorate it with merry colours. The most important colours are red and green. On the door we put a garland and a bell. Inside of the house we put white light with a form of a candle. Outside, in the entrance we put musical lights.
When the day comes (24th of December) we all meet at my grandmother’s house or in my house. We have dinner and at twelve o’clock we make a toast and open the christmas presents.
Hello: My name’s María Cerra and I’ve got two brothers (José and Marcelo), my mother (Graciela), my father (Marcelo), two grandmothers, grandfather, uncles, aunts and cousins.
Some days before christmas, we start the preparatories: the 8th of December we decorate the traditional christmas tree with a lot of lights and globes painted in many colours. Outside the house we put lights again and inside is very beautiful.
My brother and I decorate the tree. It’s an artificial one. We put a lot of tinsel, candles and presents.
When the day comes we get ready and later, we go to mass. At ten o’clock we all meet at my aunt’s house. Then we have dinner and at twelve o’clock we make a toast and open the christmas presents.
Hello! My name’s Constanza Maza. I’ve got two brothers (Lautaro and Ramiro), my mother (Bettina), my father (Roberto), two grandmothers and grandfather. And a lot of uncles and aunts too.
Here, in Argentina, the celebratories are very similars: the 8th of December we decorate the Christmas tree and the manger with the nativity scene because it’s the Virgin’s day.
We start preparing things for Christmas the 24th at night and on Christmas day too. The 24th at night our family eat and celebrate very happy of being together. Then we open the presents.
We say good bye and everyone goes to their houses and wait for the 25th. Next day we go together to the mass.
This is the Christmas in my family. All my family together in peace and happiness. Every year we do the same .
