Why our school is called Padre Juan Muzio |
Juan Muzio was born in Frassi (Italy) in 1866. When he was a child his family travelled to Uruguay. He studied in Paysandú. When he was 22 years old he became a priest.
In 1900 he met Jose Gamba who told him "we need you in Patagonia "so he went to Buenos Aires (capital of Argentina), he took a ship to Puerto Madryn (south-east of Argentina) and finally arrived to Trelew (our city). Here he founded a school called Santo Domingo then the name was changed to Padre Juan Muzio. He was a very good missionary. He liked the children and he worked with children.
